About Youth Science Center

YSC is celebrating its 60th year of service to students. The original purpose of the organization was to provide local youth with a museum and natural science center. In 1984, we moved from the hands-on center in Fullerton to Wedgeworth Elementary to accommodate the growing number of participants.

As time went on, YSC continued to evolve to meet the changing needs of young people and respond to the evolving approaches in teaching, while maintaining a commitment to excellence in science and math education. This led us to move to nearby Bixby Elementary in 2014, which provides YSC with ample space for programs and exhibits. Our mission is to inform, instruct, and inspire people of all ages and backgrounds, including the underserved, to discover the excitement of science and technology through exhibits and programs that promote learning through interaction.

YSC reaches a large service area in the San Gabriel Valley, including Eastern Los Angeles County and Northern Orange County.
